Has the support of the signatories to the agreement

Your stay must have the support of both Australian government and foreign government signatory to the agreement.

Be able to support yourself and any dependents

You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependent family members included in the visa, for the duration of your stay in Australia.

Foreign Government Agency Stream

The 403 visa stream lets you come to Australia for specific activities. You could work in Australia as a representative of a foreign government agency, or employed by a foreign government as a foreign language teacher in an Australian school.

Have a letter of support

You will need to show support from a foreign government agency, foreign national government, or international organisation recognised by Australia, by providing a letter from them.
If you are applied as a foreign language teacher in Australia, you will need to show a letter of support from an Australian school or relevant state or territory education authority.

Support yourself and your dependent family members financially

You must have sufficient funds to support yourself and any dependent family members included in the visa, for the duration of your stay in Australia.

Work in Australia

- a representative of a foreign government agency that does not enjoy official status in Australia.
- a foreign language teacher who will be employed by a foreign government in an Australian school.

Must not have held these visas

If you are applying in Australia, you must not have held these visas in the last 12 months: Subclass 403 in the Domestic Worker (Diplomatic or Consular) stream, Subclass 771 or Special purpose visa.

Domestic Worker Stream

This visa 403 stream lets a person aged 18 years or older do temporary full-time domestic work in Australia in the household of someone who holds a Subclass 995 Diplomatic (Temporary) visa.

Have the support of Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

You will need to have a letter of support from the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Have an employment contract compliant with Australia's workplace laws

Your pay and working conditions must meet Australian government awards.

This Subclass 403 visa stream lets you come to Australia if you have, or expect to have, privileges and immunities under International Organisations (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1963 or the Overseas Missions (Privileges and Immunities) Act 1995. You can stay in Australia on this visa while you are working as an international representative.

You must be resident and citizen of one of these countries: Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

Mobility Arrangement for Talented Early-Professionals Scheme 403 - Ballot Registration

To be eligible to apply for a Subclass 403 MATES stream visa, eligible Indian nationals must first register in the ballot and be randomly selected and invited to apply for the visa.

For all Applicants to be included in the application

1. Identity documents such as passport, birth certificate, proof of name change such as marriage or divorce certificate.
2. If you are or have been married, widowed, divorced or permanently separated, provide proof such as marriage certificates, divorce documents, death certificates, separation documents or statutory declarations.
3. Provide an overseas police certificate from every country, including your home country, where you spent a total of 12 months or more in the last 10 years since you turned 16, any military service records or discharge papers if you served in the armed forces of any country.
4. Passport size photographs.

5. All academic certificates and transcripts.
6. Employment reference letters and evidence of payslips.
7. English test results such as IELTS or PTE Academic or TOEFL or OET.
8. Any professional registration or license certificate.
9. Your curriculum vitae or resume that includes your full employment and educational history, including dates and positions held within last ten years.
10. Bank statements, tax records and superannuation record (If Skills Assessment is required).
